Just Who Are the Idiots? Bush or Bush-Bashers?

Amid the arguments about supposedly non-existent weapons of mass destruction, a term sanitized into just three innocuous letters, a few video clips will remind viewers what WMD means.

Weapons of Mass Destruction extinguish human lives on a massive scale in orders of magnitude unattainable by the common murderer.

Saddam Hussein used both men and weapons to murder, maim and terrorize hundreds of thousands of human beings on a scale not seen since perhaps the Third Reich. Chillingly, Hussein and his arch-henchmen have devised inventive new ways to produce agony and death. Chemical and biological agents are just two pages in Saddam's sadistic catalog of horrors.

A few decades from now, those who criticized President Bush for his entry into Iraq will find themselves solidly on the wrong side of history.

Presently obscure, these videos and the evidence presented at Saddam's trial will soon rise to prominence. Perhaps nothing short of such vicious footage will silence cowards who shrink from the call of duty and of humanity, to protect and defend the defenseless against the indefensible. Perhaps such can only be moved by the bodies writhing in anguish, the screams of grown men, scenes of ordinary men shattered and still seconds after the last moments of their vigor remained. Peradventure such unfeeling persons might contemplate the horrifying calculus of these images multiplied a hundred thousand fold, for over half a million have vanished or been found so far in mass graves.

These images record the tortured moments of only a few, perhaps scarcely enough to fill the sanctuary in a small town house of prayer.

Those who scream that President Bush is an idiot and for us to get out now perhaps unknowingly join their voices with the fiends in these images who chant and rejoice in the misery they've just administered to another person.

The rest of us will understandably scream in horror that may awaken us from our sleep and re-sensitize us to the terror buried in our news.

Over half a million men, women and children, including infants and the unborn lie as silent witnesses to Saddam's mass destruction in mass graves.

Are we as silent now as they, or will we rise up and enforce judgment on their murderers? Will we continue to debate the mere methodology of their mass murders?

Or will we focus on the currently most powerful agents of mass destruction on the planet--the man Saddam Hussein and his sons?
